Overview

The 4 IKEA superstores (Logan QLD, Rhodes and Tempe NSW, Springvale Vic) are the first of their kind built in Australia, The superstores are twice the size of their predecessors to maximise economies of scale.

Scope delivered

BSE worked on a range of Building Services that reduced the energy consumption for the huge new stores. These included highly efficient water chilling, transportation and storage, solar hot water, motion controlled lighting and heat exchange systems both internal and external.

Project results

The ambient shopping experience and reduced energy consumption BSE achieved now form the design basis for all future IKEA developments in Australia.
