Meet Nicki Fraser, our National Finance Director.
Nicki’s strong and practical business and finance experience, with a central focus on people brings a calm and methodical approach to BSE’s finance team and national business. With oversight of all finance functions Nicki provides strategic analysis and advice for teams, state leads and Directors to ensure compliance. This essential birds eye view of BSE enables consistency and support for project delivery and strategic growth
1. What is your background story?
I’ve always been a business owner, high-end fashion retail for over a decade and really loved being across all aspects of the business. Market changes in retail was harsh for smaller businesses in large shopping centres, so after I had kids I was able to make a change and joined BSE in a permanent role, when we were just one office of about 10 people. In the blink of an eye we have multiple offices, 80 incredible people, and now I head up Finance functions and growth.
2. Did you choose engineering, or did it choose you?
Marrying into engineering, it certainly chose me. It was not at all where I thought I’d spend my career growing up, it’s so interesting!
3. How do you feel services engineers add value to projects?
Without services engineers, buildings wouldn’t function. Services engineers make things work, function, they coordinate the services and disciplines and functions that make a building usable.
4. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
My dogs! Puppies asking to go outside and to be fed. Then getting on with a day that is never the same as another day, squeeze in some exercise!
5. Pineapple on pizza: yes or no?
No, never do it at home, but enjoy it if someone else makes it.
